Midweek Preview Dec 2 and Weekend Recap Nov 27

Pretty mixed weekend of action or lack thereof.

Wednesday

Hwang Hee Chan -- Leipzig go to Istanbul Basaksehir at 12:55 on CBS All Access - HHC was scheduled to return to team training post CL so out for midweek.

Thursday

Son Heung Min -- Tottenham go to LASK at 12:55 on CBS All Access - A weird match where Mourinho may have overcompensated for potential weakness in backline with Roden and being ok with an away point to a title contender. Son didn't do anything badly but on a day where connecting passes was difficult, perhaps Son could have tried to do more individually. Without, Son was rarely visible given little attacking time by Tottenham particularly in the second half. Given NLD this weekend, I'd expect him on the bench but with a win buying them knockout stages, maybe a quick trigger if needed.

Recap

Paik Seung Ho -- Finally got a start and Darmstadt came away with a big win and though it didn't sound like Paik was a large factor in that, hopefully the reversal of results means more minutes ahead. That said, he did play more of an attacking wide role which hasn't been a natural fit for him so far so the reluctance to play him more as a CM continues.

Choi Kyoung Rok -- Continues to start and positive results continue.

Kwon Chang Hoon -- Out with COVID precautions.

Jeong Woo Yeong -- Freiburg seem content to rinse and repeat with Streich only using 2 subs despite a winnable match and no Jeong. Start to wonder what will happen in winter window for him.

Lee Kang In -- Even worse for LKI, where all the subs were used showing how far down the depth chart he is. Reports of LKI testing positive for COVID is not helping his cause even if his symptoms are minimal. Hope the best for his recovery.

Hwang Ui Jo -- Got a surprise start but felt a bit of a sacrificial lamb, used for work rate to help offset the glaring holes in defense from the fullbacks. As a result didn't do too much in attack and what he did do was so-so, with good touch and dribble offset by a shot well over for example. Subbed off after an hour and an equalizer moments later not ideal for future chances.

Lee Jae Sung -- Returned to starting XI and was subbed off with five minutes left with the match well in hand.

Yun Il Lok -- Came on with 20 minutes in a close match which shows his growing albeit still secondary role in the side. His showing was a bit of a mixed bag. Looked good going forward, but didn't have that extra gear in the final moments and his defense was clearly lacking as well. He was moved from left wing to second forward to adjust for the latter fault so it was noticed.

Ji Dong Won -- Disappointing for Ji to not come on despite the close scoreline.
