Weekend Recap Dec 19 and Midweek Recap Dec 15

I don't see any ESPN+ BL2 matches so maybe some hope for late changes. Nearing the winter break...

Cheon Seong Hoon-- An unused sub but still with the first team for now. Assume no positive changes this weekend.

Hwang Hee Chan-- Out for the calendar year due to COVID recovery.

Ji Dong Won-- An unused sub is not a great sign given their need for goals. I assume he's only filling the bench out of lack of alternatives or minor injury.

Lee Kang In-- Back with the squad but I doubt he'd be thrown into the fire vs. Barcelona.

Yun Il Lok-- Yun came on with 10 to go. I expect similar activity this weekend.

Lee Jae Sung-- Played almost the full match in a narrow win. Can't always be like the weekend.

Hwang Ui Jo-- In a week when the manager suggested that Hwang needs to score goals to play more, Hwang answered with a nice first touch on a long ball to setup a nice accurate shot around the GK. And despite having his way with the RB, he was taken off after an hour. I was very confused why HUJ was taken off. He created lots of opportunities with smart runs, and while one may have hoped for more goals, the chances were not simple. Was far from perfect, but he was running with pace and a lot less wasteful than other showings. Given no goals after, seems possible / probable to start again this weekend.

Son Heung Min-- Son again showed a lethality that can keep Tottenham dreaming of hardware, but the defense again caved late to turn a decent result into a bad one. It was a hard one to watch, with Mourinho's defensive tactics, which was probably the right choice, causing few chances for Son and co. to attack. Son had another good touch, heading on for what would be the next best chance for Bergwijn who missed with only GK to beat. Made do with what came to him but one might wonder what would have happened if they attacked just a hair bit more. Should start with an extra day of rest.

Kwon Chang Hoon-- Didn't play but did make the squad so nearing a return to the pitch.

Jeong Woo Yeong-- Did come on as a sub but didn't need to do much with the lead. Was not good with his passes but didn't really have a ton of opportunity to create given scoreline. With offense finding a heartbeat, likely to come off the bench this weekend.

Choi Kyoung Rok-- Out with injury midweek. Haven't heard of an update yet but seems unlikely to start given short turnaround.

Paik Seung Ho-- Apparently played on the left and apparently had an excellent game with two assists and appearing on Kicker's TOTW. Frustrating that I couldn't watch. Will have to wait to continue as their match was postponed due to opponent's COVID outbreak.
