In full disclosure, I am setting up monetization (aka ads) in the coming weeks. I do not expect to make any money on this endeavor but its more of a curiosity to understand the economics of blogging a bit better. I will likely turn it off after 2 cents are earned.
Lee Jae Sung-- Apparently had a tougher match as a false 9 but Kiel still get the win and remain in a tie for top of the league. Given progress so far in the cup, I'd expect LJS to start even against a lower division opponent.
Hwang Hee Chan-- An unused sub last weekend who will be looking for a chance midweek. Perhaps it will be as a sub but maybe his window of opportunity has came and went.
Hwang Ui Jo-- Played 90 but more of the same with the static Bordeaux offense not able to do much to involve Hwang and Hwang not contributing much when the ball comes. Hwang's lack of pace and weakness in the air meant that Hwang was of limited use. He did have a small hand in the goal, getting onto a cross that eventually would be shot in. Should start with lack of alternatives.
Yun Il Lok-- An unused sub on the weekend and likely again midweek.
Son Heung Min-- With Mourinho putting out a very attacking XI and reaping the results with a large win, it makes his insistence most of the season on lineups with only two attackers and subbing defenders on with anything resembling a lead all the more frustrating. With all the attackers, Tottenham had an interesting wrinkle with Son using pace to play the role that Kane had played in the air much of the season, facilitating the attack for those running in behind. Positioned generally out a bit wider and deeper, Son did pretty well in his pseudo-playmaking role, with two very good assists. His finishing was not great but it wasn't needed and he could similarly complain about what should have been more assists from his teammates missing great chances that he created. Should start.
Paik Seung Ho-- Remains in transfer limbo.
Ji Dong Won-- Started and played for about an hour. Given that he was first sub, didn't sound like a great showing. Hopefully just running into a bit of a wall that he can push through.
Jeong Woo Yeong-- Came on as a sub for final 8 minutes.
Kwon Chang Hoon-- Still out injured.
Choi Kyoung Rok-- Choi Kyoung Rok the hero again, scoring the winning goal but having to be subbed for what was later termed a minor injury after 70 or so. The manager said that Choi was having a poor first half so good for CKR to find a way to keep Karlsruhe in the promotion hunt.
Lee Kang In-- I thought about turning off the DVR watch knowing that Valencia would lose and do so down to 10 men. LKI was pretty invisible for the first twenty minutes and was getting bored with so much to catch upon. But LKI started to really impact the match with great dribbling, a much better work rate than the start of the season and being a focal point in the buildup. Of course, Valencia's play was pretty poor and LKI's influence waxed and waned depending on Valencia's ability to have any possession at all, but a pretty good showing in a tough scenario.
