Weekend Preview Aug 13 and Weekend Recap Aug 6

Finally at the start of the meat of the season and more players hopefully playing. And in a bit of completely surprising news, Kim Min Jae looks close to making a transfer to Fenerbahce. Note that Turkish football is on BeIN and they've also qualified for Europa League so a few different ways to see him.

As a note ESPN+ hasn't updated BL2 which isn't great and it may be that the high number of German competitions (eg. Supercup) means nothing much to expect either.

Lee Kang In-- Still not with the squad yet. Not sure if the variance between him and HUJ is due to differing regional quarantine rules or waiting out a potential move but I'm not expecting him to play this weekend.

Choi Kyoung Rok-- Played 90 in what sounded like a standard cup win. Should start again.

Jeong Woo Yeong-- I only watched the first 40 minutes thanks to the dicey feed I was watching but Jeong got a surprise start and looked pretty solid. He looked to be playing within the team structure, whether angled more as a second forward or as a wide attacker. He also added some nice runs behind the defense and some decent crosses. A decent start but not sure enough to be certain for this weekend but should come on as a sub at least.

Lee Seung Woo-- After missing from the squad last week, nearing the exit from this schedule regardless of streamability as not expecting a major improvement.

Park Kyu Hyun-- Played with the reserves as Werder stayed with the same LB selection as last week... leaving nominal starter as a more trusted option off the bench. Could be a bit of a wait here but hopefully works his way back to the squad at least.

Suk Hyun Jun-- Apparently, he had a hamstring injury which prevented him from playing last weekend and makes his status for the upcoming one uncertain.

Hwang Hee Chan-- Played about 30 minutes in both friendlies, with the second one being a lower tempo B team affair. Hwang showed his good and bad sides: strength, pace and a good eye for a pass such as his assist in the 1st… offset by some really inconsistent finishing as when he shot over from a couple yards out in the same match. Leipzig doesn’t have the margins for misses that Marsch and Hwang enjoyed at Salzburg. Likely a sub off the bench.

Lee Jae Sung-- Made his debut and turned out to be longer than planned as Mainz needed penalties to survive the cup. I didn't get to see the match but hopefully had some more time to gel to possibly start this weekend.

Son Heung Min-- Son apparently in good form, scoring in the second of two London friendlies. Should start though some question as to who will be helping him out with Kane and Gil lagging for different reasons.

Hwang Ui Jo-- Eager to get his season going, HUJ joined squad for training this week. As to how he fits into Bordeaux' plans given their need for money and new manager, I'm not sure he'll be thrown right back in to start but as of now, it seems teammates are closer to exit.
