Midweek and Weekend Preview Sept 16-19 and Weekend Recap Sept 10

I don't have anything major to say about these players but I did want to add for scheduling purposes the players in Europa/Conference League players who I hope to see. I was about to can the BL2 players but ESPN finally added a match to stream so they live for a few more weeks.

Hong Hyun Seok-- Hong has been starting the big matches so a strong chance to start this week.

Son Heung Min-- Son did not play last weekend where Tottenham showed similar flaws that ruined last season. He did not travel midweek though Nuno didn't completely rule him out for the weekend. It sounds unlikely that Son would return but a big match vs. Chelsea may mean a spot on the bench if its close and he's healthy.

Kim Min Jae-- KMJ has been starting a lot so a good chance of him starting midweek.

Choi Kyoung Rok-- I said that CKR would need to score and what does he do but score! Maybe I should criticize his end product more. He broke through alone and was able to sneak the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper. He should start this weekend.

Hwang Hee Chan-- HHC apparently only had 30 minutes of real team training after his return from KNT duty, but he came on as a sub and scored to clinch the victory for the Wolves. It wasn't the most difficult of goals, with HHC simply reacting quickest to a loose rebound in the box and knocking the ball over the line twice, but he's off to a strong start and got that troublesome first goal monkey off his back. Otherwise, he showed good pace on the press but definitely showed the lack of cohesion with his teammates. Given the little integration time, I think HHC will remain on the bench but should come on at some point.

Jeong Woo Yeong-- I haven't seen his whole showing just yet, but it was a very choppy match despite the high-paced back and forth action. When he did touch the ball, it was pretty good but not quite great enough whether it was on a cross to Höler that was an inch too high or a header too close to the GK. The other major problem was how intermittently he was involved in the action. It may be a week that Streich mixes it up but I suspect Jeong will get a fair amount of minutes either way.

Lee Jae Sung-- Came on as a sub, sporting a new haircut (sigh it made it a lot easier to identify him) and playing in a new role in his time at Mainz, playing on the left side of the midfield 3 in a 5-3-2. He did well defensively for the most part, especially given the too frequent handoffs of responsibilities by the LWB, though it was far from perfect. There will be some trial and error in figuring out his best role and while Mainz continue to do well, I don't expect him to start just yet.

Park Kyu Hyun-- Disappointing that he continues to not even get a garbage minute debut.

Hwang Ui Jo-- Started but had to come off with what looked like an injury but was apparently cramps from all the workload. That may be a sign that he needs a rest but not sure he will get one with the lack of alternatives and with Bordeaux at the bottom of the table.

Lee Kang In-- Made his debut as a sub, and showed a fair amount of rust combined with overenthusiasm as some simple touches went away from him. But when he did get onto the ball well, he had some really nice passes. A debut but far from his best and we'll see if his role increases as he adapts to Mallorca but I suspect on the bench this week.

Suk Hyun Jun-- Still out injured I think.
