Weekend Recap - April 9th

Wonderful results for the clubs of Korean footballers as all those in relegation danger won... but not so good for the players themselves.  Almost nothing going on to recap.  Sigh.

Hong Jeong Ho -- After being one of the goats of last week, HJH found himself on the bench despite Weinzierl using 3 CHs (one at DM).  But late in the match, HJH was brought on to preserve the draw... and scored moments later and redeemed himself for at least one week.  He worked himself free well on a free kick and while he didn't get the best contact, got enough off his shin to get the winning goal.  The one highlight of the weekend.

Ji Dong Won -- Didn't make last weekend, and it seems this weekend is still iffy.

Koo Ja Cheol -- Missed the match with yellow accumulation suspension but he should be ready for this weekend.

Kim Jin Su -- Left off again but Hoffenheim also won and are now three points clear of the drop.  KJS vented a bit of frustration on Instagram which seems a bit silly.

Lee Chung Yong -- Made the bench but didn't play a role as Crystal Palace won for the first time since LCY scored and hopefully pushed themselves mostly out of immediate relegation danger.

Ki Sung Yueng -- An unused sub.  Swansea reached 40 points, traditional PL survival level, but Ki's future looks very cloudy as I discussed last week.

Park Joo Ho -- Didn't even make the bench.  They have 2nd leg at Liverpool at 3 PM ET Thursday on Fox Sports 1... but I don't expect PJH to do much.

Son Heung Min -- Son's poor performance last week, resulted in a bench role and he only came on at the last minutes for garbage time.  And Lamela who played in his spot was huge, winning MOTM.  Son will have to be patient for his next big chance to start... which might be next season.

Suk Hyun Jun -- He started and played 90 but apparently it was a lackluster Porto showing.  With not much to play for, SHJ will have to impress for next season without the backing of a fully enthused side.
