Weekend Preview Aug 24 and Weekend Recap Aug 17

I definitely can't watch most of this live as kid has a tournament this weekend (and next) as preseason grinds on for him. Just a little over a week left in the European window which ends on the 2nd.

Jeong Woo Yeong-- He didn't make the squad... not sure if the knock was a bit more lingering that anticipated or just the lack of prep ahead of the match. Maybe he makes the bench this weekend.

Kwon Chang Hoon-- KCH on the other hand did make the bench, and it was a bit disappointing for him not to make a small cameo given large lead but of course it makes sense to play it safe for now. We'll see if another week improves his chances of playing but certainly bench if not.

Ji Dong Won-- Still out.

Hwang Ui Jo-- Reports were not very good on his performance, and not reassuring when they buy a CF afterward. It's not a position of strength so maybe he starts again.

Suk Hyun Jun-- Came on as a sub, and sounded lively if not efficient. We will see if this leads to more opportunities but for now, I'm assuming still a bench role for now.

Lee Kang In-- We will see if he's fit enough to make the bench and how Marcelino uses him given uncertainty of roster.

Ki Sung Yueng-- Started but it was not a good showcase for him, between battling Norwich's speed of play which left him out of position defensively, and Newcastle's ugly football where the simple passes were avoided in favor of long balls to nowhere. Without any fluidity in the buildup, Ki wasn't able to do enough to offset his defensive liabilities and he came off after a little more than an hour. I didn't think Ki was the problem, but if Newcastle won't defend or pass, Ki's not of much use either. I expect him on the bench but with someone like Bruce in charge, who knows how he will set his bench up.

Son Heung Min-- Finally eligible to play again, we will see if Poch throws him right in, and my assumption is yes.

Lee Seung Woo-- Was an unused sub, as they were defending a tight lead but still conceded in the final minutes.
