Weekend Preview Aug 28th and Recap Aug 24th

"Recap" is being quite generous as I was out all weekend and still haven't watched the Tottenham wreckage yet. And missed seeing the two goals live :( And of course have to get right back into this recap for an untelevised League Cup match is salt in the wound.

Wednesday

Ki Sung Yueng -- Newcastle vs Leicester (Cup) at 2:45 PM. No TV -- Ki was left out of the squad with Bruce switching to two CMs and having Shelvey on the bench. A weird situation where Ki is still only an injury away from being an important cog in the team, but also feels very much on the margins having been left out of two of three matchday squads. He'll probably have a chance to start midweek in League Cup fixture against strong opposition.

Recap

Jeong Woo Yeong -- Played with reserves so struggling a bit and don't see a major change given Freiburg's good form.

Kwon Chang Hoon -- Made his Bundesliga debut with about five minutes left, and was lively from the start, stealing a ball on the press and starting the counter which should have led to a goal. When KCH was given same opportunity, he latched onto a good cross and made no mistake and easily scored so a good debut.

Ji Dong Won -- Still out injured

Hwang Ui Jo -- A win can help things, especially when you score a nice goal like HUJ. He was smart to identify quick break opportunity, literally putting his head down like a sprinter and getting onto a deep ball. He had enough left in the tank to put in a good move and an inch perfect shot just inside the post. It was a good goal and it seems that there's positivity around his entire performance, so hopefully a positive sign here.

Suk Hyun Jun -- Came on with 67' gone but couldn't score.

Lee Kang In -- Another match as an unused sub hopefully spurs on his desire to find a loan destination for the season. One week left for him to find an opportunity to play.

Son Heung Min -- I'll put in a recap with the previews when I get around to watching the remaining part of the match.

Lee Seung Woo -- He ruled himself out of squad with a nebulous "fatigue" claim which puts a potential move into the more likely category.
