Recap plus Midweek Schedule Feb 24

Tuesday

Kim Bo Kyung and Malky Mackay take on their former club Cardiff City at 2:45 PM ET.  No TV.  Kim Bo Kyung played 90 but Wigan lost badly and are struggling for survival.  He could start but only because they're lacking heathy options and he may go to the bench as Mackay looks for defense.

Wednesday

Son Heung Min and Leverkusen start knockout stages by hosting Atletico Madrid at 2:45 PM ET.  Fox Sports 2.  Son was pulled at 74 minutes after starting to look fatigued.  It wasn't his best performance, scuffling up a couple good opportunities, but he had some nice passes in there as well.  He should start in a very tough matchup.

Recap

Hong Jeong Ho - still out with injury

Ji Dong Won - was pretty invisible again as Augsburg struggled to make things work in the first half. He was pulled at halftime which will be a concern for his playing time going forward.

Kim Jin Su - played 90.  Only saw parts of the second half where he didn't have to do much in the time that I watched though it looked like he was being asked to stay back more than normal.

Koo Ja Cheol - came on as a sub for Okazaki as Mainz were well ahead.  He had a nice pass and a few decent runs.

Park Joo Ho - An unused sub and if it is preference or a niggling injury that is preventing him from playing.  A disconcerting trend for him.

Lee Chung Yong - Still injured.  Hopefully he's nearing fitness.

Yun Suk Young - Played 90.  Fell asleep watching him on tape but was tidy in the part that I saw.  Will hopefully update later.

Ki Sung Yueng - Scored the critical equalizer that snuffed out the swing in momentum with a great run into space and finish.  He also started the play that resulted in the winning goal.  Monk surprised with unveiling a midfield diamond with Ki on the right.  While that position prevented him from the quantity of touches that usually allow him to control the match (and resulted in Swansea struggling for possession at times), Ki still showed his versatility by providing plenty of offensive ingenuity.  Good to see him put in a brilliant performance after fatigue seemed to take him out last time out.

Suk Hyun Jun - Played 90 in a loss.
