Weekend Recap

Hong Jeong Ho had a strong game though I thought he was fortunate that Bayern wasted a few chances when he failed to track back hard enough on through balls.  A big win that keeps Europa League dreams alive.  And a nice showcase for Hong Jeong Ho against a very strong opponent.

Ji Dong Won struggled with an injury during training and was an unused substitute.

Son Heung Min played better than I thought based on local paper reports but certainly seems to be lacking something when he gets into the final third, whether it was precision on his shooting or passing.

Kim Jin Su was an unused sub.  I guess I wasn't the only one noticing his mistakes last week though the loss means that Hoffenheim slide further out of the Europa spots.

Lee Chung Yong came on late in the match for the final few minutes.  I thought that Pardew was a bit late on all his subs and by the time Lee Chung Yong came on, it was too late for him to do much with his handful of touches.

Koo Ja Cheol came on as a sub at HT but failed to make a significant difference as Mainz lost.  He fought hard but didn't really have many great moments.

Park Joo Ho was an unused sub which at least has the silver lining that it is a sign that Park Joo Ho is nearing a return to full fitness and the pitch.

Yun Suk Young - I still haven't watched this seeing a) the scoreline (QPR lost 6-0), b) that Yun came off (at 86') and c) seeing highlights of his slip.  It's more than a bit disappointing as Yun had been playing well with his limited chances before.  Now QPR is officially relegated and facing a variety of issues revolving FFP.  How Ramsey lines up for the last two matches is a bit of a mystery.

Suk Hyun Jun played the full 90 in a loss.

Ki Sung Yueng played 74' in a big win over Arsenal, giving the Swans doubles over both Arsenal and Manchester United.  In the first half, Ki was tidy though Swansea didn't see much of the ball as they defended very deep.  In the second half, Ki got a bit more forward and had a few really good chances.  He did have a few very sloppy passes and looked a bit gassed from all the defending Swansea had to do and came off for Gomis who would then score the winner a few minutes later.
