I’ll be pretty brief as I wasn’t really watching this weekend. Then again not tons to see live though I did see Ki on delay.
Wednesday
Ki Sung Yueng -- Newcastle go to Nottingham Forest on ESPN+ at 2:45. It’s unclear if Ki would have started if Shelvey wasn’t hurt but since he was, Ki played 90. He was tidy on the ball if a bit restrained with his passing given the defensive tactics that Rafa employed. But man was Ki slow... and it caused him to be a bit loose on Alonso who got his cross in which would get deflected in for the winning own-goal. And now with so many midfielders out, it seems Ki might have to start again midweek but we will see if Rafa just sacrifices cup.
Recap
Ji Dong Won -- Baum adjusted a bit with Caiuby fit enough to start and Ji only came on in final minutes as a defensive sub/time waster.
Koo Ja Cheol -- He came on with thirty minutes left or so. Hopefully his role grows with his match fitness.
Suk Hyun Jun -- Came on at 69’ but it was already over as they were losing by three.
Son Heung Min -- Asian Games.
