Weekend Recap Nov 24 and Midweek Preview Nov 27

A pretty good weekend in the limited play we got. There's a high chance that Jeong Woo Yeong will be in squad (tho much less for him to play) for Bayern today and a smaller one for Lee Kang In who was training with youth team and so either picked up a knock or is a last second fill in for senior side. Both of those are on B/R Live only at 3PM.

Wednesday

Son Heung Min -- Tottenham host Inter Milan at 3PM on TNT.  Amazing what a fresh Son looks like. He was electric with his pace, regularly beating any and all defenders with speed and a surprisingly good touch. Unfortunately, he was a bit unlucky with his finishes, with one half-volley going just over, another well saved and a more difficult curler just missing. But he kept going on and scored the goal of the weekend, burning past Jorginho, tricking past Luiz and calmly putting a left foot shot inside the corner. He was playing excellently before his goal and the goal assuaged any concerns about his missed goals and won MOTM for such a strong showing. It's a bit sad to know that he's at risk of falling right back into fatigue rut with Asian Cup going on and one wonders how different his career would be without so much international strain.

As for CL, he was pulled pretty early with it seeming like Poch was giving him the extra rest in a chance to start midweek. They have NLD afterwards so that might have played into equation as well, so I'll put it 50/50 to start.

Recap

Ji Dong Won -- Stayed on the bench. Perhaps not match fit.

Koo Ja Cheol -- Came on as a sub and seemed to help a bit with some decent work and passes but the match was well decided.

Suk Hyun Jun -- Was left out of squad. Was it due to international duty or preference? We'll find out next weekend.

Ki Sung Yueng -- Rafa switched to a back three and also had some tactical tweaks which allowed Ki to exert his calming control of play without having to track back too hard. If there was a weakness, it was Ki's tendencies to rush headed clearances when a simple trap would have sufficed. Ki was so calm and smooth that it was easy to overlook how difficult some of the things he was doing actually were. Quiet sidesteps around pressing defenders led to simple but perfect passes that opened up the whole pitch. Another good showing and Rafa has to notice three straight wins with Ki's larger presence.
