Midweek Preview Sep 24 and Weekend Recap Sep 20

A smattering of midweek action, most of which I can't watch and didn't watch as much as I had wanted Saturday.

Son Heung Min-- Started and in a choppy match, really had difficulty in dominating as he did the week before, but he had some good moments, with a backheel assist to Kane and feeding the latter with a nice throughball that should have been scored. Son made mostly good decisions but maybe could have forced the issue some more with his shooting when Tottenham needed the random Son goal out of nowhere more than usual. Son should get rested and hope some of his teammates get back on track.

Hwang Ui Jo-- Played 90 for the first time which is a bit strange ahead of short week and stated desire to manage his minutes this fall. He started wider but his teammate Briand mentioned how things worked better with him more central in the second half, but also didn't seem like he had a major impact either. With a short week, maybe he gets a rest but it seems Bordeaux is committed to HUJ.

Lee Kang In-- Came on with thirty minutes to go and the match still level, so an upping of responsibilities and apparently played well according to local press, creating chances though unable to break the tie. We'll see how they manage the short week, but hopefully a continuation or expansion of his role would be good to see.

Suk Hyun Jun-- An unused sub which isn't a good sign given goalless draw but didn't see how others were doing. UPDATE: Suk left out of squad.

Jeong Woo Yeong-- Played for reserves midweek so left out, but didn't make squad for the weekend as it looks like a long uphill climb for him.

Kwon Chang Hoon-- Didn't come on... Freiburg looked like they were creating chances so maybe didn't want to disrupt that but still disappointing.

Ki Sung Yueng-- Came on for Shelvey as Bruce came to same realization that everyone does: Shelvey may be very talented but he destroys rhythm and possession with poor decisions. Ki wasn't great at first, taking a few minutes to get up to speed defensively, but once he started getting the ball, he had a positive impact, even if it wasn't enough for the win. He did have an awful freekick that floated way too far. Hopefully Ki can take advantage of opportunity until Longstaff returns.

Ji Dong Won-- Out injured
