Already the midweek matches begin, with Champions League playoffs and Championship football.
And while we're on CL, Kim Bo Kyung is currently in a trial with PSV Eindhoven. From what I can tell, Park Ji Sung has been a positive reference for KBK, whom PJS had once touted as his successor for KNT. Hopefully the trial goes well though no contract is there yet.
Tuesday
Son Heung Min and Leverkusen head to Rome for the first leg of their Champions League playoff vs Lazio. 2:45 PM ET on Fox Sports 2. On the one hand, Son did generally well in CL last year where he was able to exploit defenses who were possibly under-prepared for Son's style of play. But on the other, Schmidt has to start thinking about getting Brandt, who has shown excellent quality despite sub role, onto the pitch. I expect Son on the bench though he may get the start in hopes of getting his season jump-started.
Wednesday
Yun Suk Young will likely miss QPR's next match at Wolverhampton (2:45 PM ET; no TV) as he works his way back to fitness following his preseason knee injury. Given that he missed the chance to get some match minutes with U21, he's still a bit away from a return.
