Weekend Recap Dec 8 and Midweek Recap Dec 11

Again, the young kids have a chance to play in CL with both on Wednesday at 3 pm ET. Lee Kang In could start for Valencia vs Man Utd (TNT) while Jeong Woo Yeong more likely to come on for Bayern (B/R Live) if results are going well.

Tuesday

Son Heung Min — Tottenham at Barcelona - 3 PM ET on TNT - Started off energetically but wasn’t able to create much danger without a playmaker like Eriksen to feed him the ball until right before halftime when he unleashed one of his classic left footed rockets for Tottenhams first goal. He later then chipped a great cross for Alli to head in and Tottenham were able to cruise for a win. It wasn’t the best Son showing but it was great to see him score a basic direct goal which has been missing in his toolkit lately. He was subbed off and I’d think he’d have to start a must win given his form but he’s had a lot of minutes lately. Still leaning to think he starts.

Recap

Ji Dong Won -- Came on with thirty left and hit the crossbar. I didn’t see it all, but he didn’t look full speed which may explain his lack of use recently. He dropped deeper when more subs came on which was interesting if Finnbogason stays fit.

Koo Ja Cheol -- Was an unused sub disappointingly but clearly Baum had to try something different with Augsburg dropping near relegation.

Ki Sung Yueng -- Again controlling the play and some great set pieces. He was a bit measured in his work rate given the amount of minutes he’s had but he hustled when needed. He was a bit sloppy on the dribble when he did venture forward himself, losing the ball uncharacteristically on simple moves. But he continues to be a positive force on a team lacking consistent quality.

Suk Hyun Jun -- Played eighty in a surprise start. I didn’t see but it sounded like he was industrious in the air like he often is.
