Sadly this week is the Peacock experiment. On the one hand its free for the week, but on the other hand, it seems cutting it close in terms of a mass of people logging in. I guess I'll do during morning meetings or use NBC Gold.
Wednesday
Son Heung Min and Tottenham go to Newcastle at 1 PM on Peacock - Son was on the bench midweek as Mourinho saved the big guns for the NLD, but it was a bad bet as Tottenham continued to struggle even against the 2nd worst team and it was a complete mess when Son came on. It doesn't excuse a performance where Son was often invisible or making wrong decisions but it was a real struggle for anything.
Against Arsenal, Mourinho tried a new shape to adjust to the lack of playmakers, in a 4-4-2 with Son and Kane paired up top. Son often dropped deeper in a CAM type role at times. Things looked better in a lot of ways as they were able to create pressure even if they were still missing someone who could provide the final ball... often they were left to the FBs to hoof in crosses. And despite an early setback, Son benefited from an Arsenal blunder in the back, as he picked off a poor pass and chipped in nicely over the GK. He also assisted the winner, with a good corner. But despite the goal, Son was pressing too much and had a lot of mental errors. Anyway as much good as bad so he should start again.
Thursday
Lee Kang In and Valencia face Espanyol at 3 PM (No TV) - LKI did come on with 20 or so left but wasn’t able to change things. Didn’t see and I don’t think I’ll get to see this either but I expect continued sub role.
