Weekend Preview Sept 14

Thankfully the end of another international break. That first one is always so disrupting coming right after the transfer window close. At least KNT got three points (did not watch) and stayed mostly healthy. The usual disclaimer of unpredictability post international breaks applies.

Ki Sung Yueng-- Probably on the bench, and don't foresee him coming on barring injury or implosion the latter of which is quite possible.

Son Heung Min-- The long journey back is always tricky but he'll be eager to go and Poch doesn't have any margin to be messing around with CL next week likely to suffer strength-wise. As a result, I think he starts barring excess travel fatigue.

Hwang Ui Jo-- I'll assume he starts.

Lee Kang In-- From this biased perspective, Marcelino seemed to be actively trying to get fired with his treatment of LKI and he got his wish today. The timing of this is the primary complaint, given the lack of preseason for the new manager, waste of international break to make up for it, and the closure of the transfer window for the players. We will see how it impacts things... I don't expect a major change but maybe LKI will be used for something besides garbage time now.

Suk Hyun Jun-- Seemed to get some decent time in international break friendly, so I assume he will continue to be the backup #9.

Jeong Woo Yeong-- The KFA showed continued lack of foresight, calling up JWY for the Olympic team for a pair of friendlies, and then having to cancel those friendlies due to travel issues. It wasn't even against a strong side which makes it all the more mindboggling. Playing time/form is more important than team chemistry for these youth tournaments and so having JWY who has struggled to make the bench miss an opportunity to impress Streich for these shenanigans hurts. Hopefully he makes the end of the bench.

Kwon Chang Hoon-- His moderate use in second match hopefully a positive sign but I don't expect him to start.

Ji Dong Won-- Out injured
